Alright! Israel photos!

Yea! So, I'm finally on the Israel photos! Alright, my first DAY there was quite an amusing time. Lesley, Marcella, and I got to room together! Yay! And our FIRST DAY, we were just sitting on the beds, chilling, unpacked. And then there was this noise...and at first I was like, Oh Marcella must be in the bathroom running the water or something. Then I peered around the wall and noticed Marcella sitting on her bed. I looked at Lesley and she looked up at me, and we both made a face and said, "What's that???" Marcella said, "I was about to ask the same thing!" "It's coming from the bathroom!" Opened the door...yea, the main water hose that ran to the toilet and shower broke and water was spewing everywhere! Seriously, we were there for like not even 3 hours. Whenever some amusing disaster like that happens at the beginning of a trip or something, I know that it's going to be a good time. And it was. Well, here are the photos of the clean up:

Marcella showing off her squeegee skills...Lesley displaying the soaking wet toilet paper...

The water all over the floor...

And dripping down the walls and from the ceiling. That's the hose by the toilet that broke. Lesley had the longest arms, so she reached in to turn off the water. You can also see the sopping wet toilet paper stack...

Uh, the only picture I took of the first week of digging. The man in the blue shirt is Sam Wolff, a.k.a Sandwolf. lol. He's one of our directors and this is proof that the director DOES do work in the squares...occasionally. The other two people are Roger and Lan, my two loyal slaves - erm, volunteers!

PETER!!!! Aw...he was only there for two weeks. He was my third loyal slave. He was from Denmark! I swear, only cool people come from Denmark. I have only met awesome Danes, and I know FOUR!

Ah, the 4th of July dig party... an impromptu frisbee-soccer match ensued after most people consumed the delicious burgers and fries and ice cream! The DJ was pretty good, too. A mix of Hair!, oldies, hippie classic rock, Queen, and hardcore rap and hiphop was played. And if you don't know the musical Hair!, think of the movie 40 Year Old Virgin and the part where they play "The Age of Aquarius"...that song is from Hair! Look it up. Silly music...

ELLIOT! "Was your father a glassier??", "somebody, Bonnie needs sacks!" haha, oh...the sayings of Elliot. What a crazy man. What IS he hiding behind that mustache? I don't even think his wife knows...

We had three rings of chairs set up. Here was one group of people. OH MAN, THERE'S ROB! It's "hot" Rob! lol. He's the guy in the green on the left.

Wow, I managed to get half the supervisors in one shot! Left-to-right: Marcella, Dan, Gary (just his hand), Terry (he was one of the "den mothers"...he left after 3 weeks...*tear*), Steve Ortiz, Sam Wolff, Paul a.k.a. "Coach".

Ah, this one also includes Dr. Knauth, far left. I got a picture of Sam taking a picture!!! haha!

Then even the supervisors joined in on the frisbee-soccer fun!!! haha. Ok, now you can finally see Gary (the very tall man on the far left).

Yea! Sam's joined in, too! And he's dancing! hahaha, I love when Sam dances. It's so funny. I believe he was actually dancing to some rap at this point...lol. He likes to sing a lot, too. Pottery reading is by far the funnest part of the day...well...when you're the one who's pottery isn't being read.

Some video footage of the frisbee game. At this point I think they lost the soccer ball...

And that's all for now because I must get ready to go out tonight with some of the people from Goethe Institut! Good night!

Of course when something bad happens at the beginning of a trip, it's going to be a good time :) Like when you punched me in the face before the plane even took off for Italy. Lol love you!
